Ted Rall for July 27, 2011
Transcript:
The Video Game "budget hero" lets players make pretend cuts and tax hikes to virtually balance the federal budget. (Woman: I've killed NPR but the deficit keeps growing!) It was supposed to be fun. Then Republican gamers threatened to infect the global internet with a virus that would destroy every computer on earth. (Man: Once you allow imaginary tax increases, taxes on real billionaires are a matter of time.) Without taxation mode, Democrats complain, the game cannot be won. (Man: You're not praying hard enough, secular scum!) Meanwhile, outside the matrix, life goes on the same as always. (Woman 2: No electricity 'puter no work.) (Man: Let's sell it for cigarettes.)

Meanwhile, out here in the real world outside the elite enclave known as the Beltway, my deficit and that of millions of others keeps growing because I cannot find a decent job. 2 college degrees and I work sporadically for $10/hr. I tried to raise my debt ceiling and got laughed at. It’s time to break the stranglehold of the Money And Perpetual War Party (w/ its Dem and Repub branches) on power in this country. Vote Green!

You speaks the real truth. Let each adult that works, tries to work or has retired from work take 2 weeks in House or 2 moths in Senate and see how fast work gets done them.

Check that website out. It seems to still be in development but the first part is ready. They are looking for people to tell them what we want. Not for them to make it up and then sell it to us/cram it down our throats. I am going to keep an eye on it and see what happens. Who knows? All we may need is someone who can step above the usual bs.
