Space is now in the hands of free enterprise. May it prosper.

We can blame a lot on Bush and can blame a lot on Big Barry for trying to be a Republican once he got in office.

The shuttle program was canceled in 2005. See this announcement: http://www.spacedaily.com/news/rocketscience-05o.htmlI am not blaming anyone. That is just a fact. But another fact is that Obama does not support NASA. He wanted them to be a Muslim outreach organization. What should actually be in Obama’s junk yard would be the war in Afghanistan after he pulls out the troops and the economy!

I don’t think its that obama is uninterested in the space program as much as it is far from a priority considering everything else on his plate. If he threw a bunch of money at nasa everyone would give him crap for spending to much or something.

Whats more important atm? Getting the country back on foot, or some space race that isn´t going to support the population at given time. Better to keep it on standby or lower the amount of support until other more pressing matter is dealt with.

You’re pretty good at imaginary facts as well. BHO was not the one to end the Shuttle Program. Constellation was never a viable replacement. It was too expensive; like everyting else GWB touched.

…said: Seems to me we’ve been the ONLY ones in space for more than a decade Was that said in jest? As one of your countryman famously said: " You CANNOT be serious! But, no, seriously, were you being serious? If you were…. :-| [*howls of derisive laughter] But I know you were jesting so it’s ok.

Obama is just relabeling the Mars effort with His Name. By leaving out the moon trials, it no longer has Bush’s name on it. Otherwise, same thing.Spacecrafts….Ho!…..

I just find it interesting the “bush tarts” get bent every time something HE caused (or Reagan policies) comes up, yet constantly try to blame Obama for EVERY failure of prior administrations! NOTE: Obama did NOT start the wars in Afghanistan or Iraq. Now he’s being criticized for pulling folks out of those wars by “one side”, and not pulling them out fast enough by “the other side”.

The simple fact is this: Obama HAS tried to hard to “accommodate” the childish behavior of Republicans, and yes, his own party. His style is to try to negotiate and find compromise. Yep, we need more compromise, like “shock and awe”.

Give me five reasons to support NASA. Other than being a huge money black hole.

Are people mad about the U.S. spending less money on something? Are we saying there’s actually necessary government spending outside of the military?? Surely we’re not seeing people admit to that? Surely! *
