And the thousands of victims on 9-11 weren’t tortured? How about justice for them? When are the bleeding hearts going to stop the Bush bashing and direct their venom toward protection of Americans?

@pbuckland Well you know if they were responsible for 911 victims they would not be tortured anyway. They would have been tried and dealt with – oh wait trials and such are just too scary for you guys.

@Night Gaunt49 Because Hussein usually wore a business suit did not make Iraq a western style nation. There was no democracy and hundreds of thousands, possibly millions. of his people were slaughtered by his regime. He thumbed his nose at the world by refusing to allow weapons inspections and has to bear much of the responsibility for subsequent war losses.

Iraq (for the most part) was a better place for most Sunnis under Saddam. Kurds & Shia, were excluded from many political & economic activities. Women did have more freedom to participate in society. Unless you were a political enemy of Saddam, you were probably safer before 2003.

Iraq wasn’t a democracy, but neither were Egypt under Mubarak or Pakistan under Musharraf. Saudi Arabia still has nothing remotely like democracy & oppressed any dissent in their countries. Yet we actively supported those regimes.

Saddam was willing to allow inspections once his back was against the wall. It was pretty clear to anyone paying attention that at that point he had little in the way of WMDs or capacity to quickly make them. Cheney, Wolfowitz & Rumsfeld convinced Bush that removing Saddam had to be removed. They were all convinced, despite all evidence to the contrary, that we could quickly have a post invasion government running Iraq.

Between invading Iraq, using torture & illegal detention, Bush undermined American credibility around the world & destroyed all of the goodwill we were receiving post 9-11.

Rall just became a traitor. Advocating harm against a US President is punishable by law….

?? It’s illegal to suggest GWB is having nightmares about retribution??

Can a comic suggest GWB has explosive diarrhea after getting food poisoning, or is that also illegal??

Thanks for fulfilling the stereotype that conservatives don’t have to read documents to know what it says.

@biemmezeta:Those who don’t remember history are condemned to repeat it. Putting Bush in office after the Reagan disaster in the ’80s proves that.
