    They should just sew serial numbers in the heel where it wouldn’t be visible- J76D1-L, J76D1-R. I’d be willing to pay an extra quarter a pair for that

    Back in the late ’40s, when I was in high school, there was a fad of boys wearing pink shirts and socks with charcoal slacks. O tempore, O mores! Maybe Earl still has his socks.

    They used to be white. Opal put them in the wash with her red towels.

    Good one! [I made our son strike an entire box of matches outside—one at a time—because he’d been playing with them earlier. Only thing—he still set his matress on fire and (thank God) his messy room didn’t ignite too! Amazing that parents or children survive the growing up stages.]
