Son home for a couple months until he starts school. He’s now “officially” a disabled veteran, like me. Too bad those caught up in the economic mess Bush/Cheney left us with are so much better off than the sons and daughters who didn’t come home from Iraq or Afghanistan.
Bush and Cheney don’t have to worry, we’ll be supporting them and their friends for a long time to come.
You can blame Bush for invading Iraq all you want. I sure do. Just remember that Obama’s been in office for well over a year now and we’re still in Iraq.
Are you saying he has not been in office for over a year? By my comment I meant that I had the expectation that he would have had some kind of withdrawal plan by the time had been in office for a year.
It took Nixon six years and resignation, turning things over to Ford to “pull out” of Viet Nam. Hopefully, next months draw down will occur, and be followed by more in every succeeding month, in Afghanistan AND Iraq. Now all we need is to get rid of the corporate “contractors” as well. They outnumber the troops by a significant margin, but well, they represent “profit”.

^You DO mean the trend that took off under “W” and the Republicans’ brilliant strategies, right?

What would you expect, for us to remain there in perpetuity?
