Any religious leader offering a definate testable answer to anything is a crackpot. How can you keep up the mysticism if you give unambiguous, easy to understand answers.
Since English is a living language, it is constantly changing. Our spelling should accommodate this, but it doesn’t. That is why our spelling is so chaotic. It was largely “fixed” (in the sense of not being allowed to change) sometime centuries ago, but the language itself continued to change.
