It is the “best” thing about our country when the chips are down- the “common man” is far better than the political one.

Which- Beck started whining immediately yesterday that “volunteers” NOT IN ANY WAY THE GOVERNMENT rushed in to help. He didn’t point out that last week FEMA put on disaster response training in the area, or that the area got some of those grants for rescue equipment from the Homeland Security system, or where the money for the National Guard comes from, or how many of those volunteers were government folks trained to respond. I turned him off— forever. Scumbag.

I’m surprised you even bother to watch, trout. Long ago I decided that he had nothing to say that was worth my time to listen. The only things I’ve listened to Beck say in the last few years have been clips on the Daily Show.I’m sure some righty will point their finger at me and say I am biased or something, but I don’t need to jump off a cliff to prove it’ll hurt at the bottom, and I’ve gathered plenty of data vis-a-vis Mr. Beck regarding:- his anti-Semitic rantings- his lying demonization of “progressives”- his pitiful knowledge of history coupled with his “I’m just a regular guy” crap, suggesting that HIS ignorance is wisdom- his borderline (I think) paranoid and megalomaniac ravingsI am a social scientist. I have gathered plenty of data to make a reliable judgment on Beck…

it’s amazing how the republicans take every effort to try to save the bush legacy.

we’ll be living with the ‘w’ mis-leading for many decades to come.

^Tell me about it. My superiors were talking about how under W. we were living in good times and how the housing and bank crisis were Obama’s fault. Sheesh!

MM, beck and fux nuse fire up the “Swirlys” of the world, and gain support for folks like Ryan and Cantor- ignorance isn’t bliss, but policy for them. I’ve tried to see “their side” of issues in order to make the effort to “make sense” of where they’re coming from— there is no longer any point, or possibility.

^Yep. They make good stories designed to appeal to base emotions without recourse to actual facts. “Truthiness!”

Do you guys see a problem with the dialog here when a cartoon about people helping other people in times of natural disaster turns into partisan rants complaining about right vs left scatalogical ideologies. Sheesh!!! You guys need some help.
