Is Nubbin AWOL again when Corky needs help? Back when Wilmer Bobble tried to steal the diner from Corky, there was no sign of the elder son, so why should we expect him to show up this time? For that matter, Hope appears to have dropped off the face of the Earth as well.
Maybe Nubbin doesn’t live in town anymore.
Maybe he and Corky are estranged for some reason (there was speculation about Nubbin’s personal life that, if confirmed, could be that reason).
Maybe Hope isn’t aging as well as Corky (who is 80 himself) and isn’t able to help out.
The last time Judy showed up, Gideon was nowhere in sight. Are they still married?
All things that could have been explored instead of R&J’s junkyard adventures…

I’m holding my nose as I write this….. I’m so tired of ‘Slim Pickens’ and ‘Over Clovia’ that I’d even welcome a J&R story. AARRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
