Hobart (who names their kid that) is enjoying this way too much. I foresee pain in his future.

They are cutting sport programs in all the high schools across the nation. Maybe Gil’s job is on the line. HHMMMMMM…

@stealth6948: What really happens is that last ones hired are the first to go. No school system has to scramble to find replacements.I don’t like the story line as it is blatantly political and there is no middle ground on this issue. But, taking it seriously, salaries and benefits are the first items to be cut..meaning teachers. District level jobs and cut backs never seem to happen. Next on the chopping block is fine arts like chorus and band. Athletics is a sacred cow. Nobody cuts the real fat and waste. The answer is always raise taxes because “it is for the children”….what a crock of horse manure. I could go on and on about textbooks, buildings, etc….but…well…let’s see where this story line goes. It is, however, tooooo personal and vindictive on the part of some of the characters.

Perhaps Hobart’s employer (if he even has a job) will lower the boom on him. All those soon-to-be-out-of-work teachers could put the Milford economy in a hurt locker.

This entire story arc is ridiculous. How many school boards actually run this way? And where is the Milford Bugle and its intrepid reporters?

Now that Marty seems to have reformed (or maybe is taking tranquilizers), the strip needs a new in-your-face villain. Right?

Hobart is a duchebag. No one on a school board is like this. They are generally parents, business owners, and other volunteers from the community.

They are laying off teachers in the last couple of weeks of school? Instead of after the term ends, or during the summer?

Ok guys here is a reality check. Teachers with the larger salery will be layed off first. This means those with the greatest Tenure. Look at the Baltimore and New Orleans school systems and what happen there. Board is not looking to keep its best teachers, it wants to save money AT THE COST OF EDUCATION.

I didn’t know MIlford was in Florida. Hobart must be a relative of Governor Rick Scott. Seems like everyone is trying to ruin education no matter where it is.
