What point is Rall trying to make? That if you voted for Obama or pay taxes, you have blood on your hands? Pretty shrill and over-the-top if you ask me.
Eh. I just wanted to read old comics, and this site made me sign-up to do that. I used the Radiohead song I was listening to, idioteque. But it said that was taken. So I just added idioteque at the discoteque. Don’t know why. First thing that popped in my head. :)
Well, it’s taken awhile, but we’ve finally gotten around to blaming the common soldier for the war and killing like in Vietnam. Guess we can start spitting on them now.
Rall pays taxes (or else he would be in jail). Rall thinks paying taxes means you have blood on your hands. Ergo Rall has blood on his hands. If he really stood by his convictions, he would stop paying taxes, not make a comic strip saying everyone in the world is evil.
This cartoon strikes me as unfocused. I think Rall is saying that Dr. Tiller’s murder horrified most Americans, Obama and Bush voters, CEOs and Iraq vets, and common taxpayers like Rall himself. However, Randall Terry has not been horrified; he seems to approve of the murder.
well, I think DredP has it right. Rall is saying some nut somewhere could determine just about anyone has blood on their hands for something and therefore could be justifiably killed if you’re sick as Randall Terry (and others).
Bromo preempted my comment more or less. Ted never cheers me up but at least supplies me a shoulder to look over into the abyss. But then in the long run, I’m less pure than him; I’m troubled by the question:Is it REALLY an abyss?
Pete Rogan, I don’t know any fanatics nor would I listen to them if I did. However you seem to be dangerously close to fitting the bill with your response. Whatever anyone else may have drawn from this cartoon, I simply cannot see what point it’s trying to make hence I say: He’s all over the place. If you are referring to some implied stance you think I have on this issue, refer to my other postings on abortion cartoons. I also do not share a Machiavellian view of the world. I’m a bit more optimistic and have more faith in my fellow man than that. If I see an abyss, I’m gonna try to build a bridge over it!

From what I see, it looks like Rall has gotten around to blaming pretty much everyone.

Rall’s all over the place with this one. I don’t hink it’s insightful or helpful. Meh.

Well said, believe and Dred. I didn’t see it that way at first but believe you’re right.

this is an excellent cartoon. message is brutal, concise, encompassing, and nihilistic.
