What the hell is Ramirez saying? That Obama should be more like War Bush and scare the hell out of America? Raise the terror alerts a few more times, that’ll get the sheep to listen.
I really don’t get this strip. Was it wrong of Obama to tell corporations they should think about hiring people? Or should he have pulled a Bush and told people to go to the mall and spend, spend, spend themselves into debt? What the heck does this mean?
If government can’t “create” jobs, and many were lost because of Bush policies to NOT tax businesses so they’d bring work home, and they did NOT, leading to deeper recession- why is it so wrong to try taxing those businesses and wealthy to actually bring back the jobs they CLAIM they’re “creating” from THEIR personal excess profits?
Right, Obama can’t make jobs with government, but it’s ALL his fault anyone is out of work. duh.
Yes, Radish, congressional Republicans were for cutting the first responders’ benefits: http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/worker-safety/132907-health-bill-for-911-workers-fails-key-vote.Michael Ramirez is pointing out that killing Osama bin Laden doesn’t carry the weight that it carried in 2001, and that unemployment is difficult to solve when the congressional Republicans refuse to help hurting Americans. In addition, this cartoon reminds us that unemployment always lags behind in an economic recovery, that Bush-Dick’s so-called economic recovery had no jobs, and that Bush-Dick’s megaphone work in 2001 was utterly impotent. Thanks for a good cartoon, Ramirez. Let us all vote out the Republicans who prefer protecting the profits of the wealthy to helping the hurting.
