Interestingly, the day after this strip, the Beatles released “She Loves You” in Britain, which immediately broke all the sales records in the country and made Beatlemania into the biggest national event of 1963, presaging the British Invasion which dominated world music and culture for the following decade. Violet’s dad was almost certainly a music fan. :-)

I think Violet says her dad is better than (Insert Peanuts Character name) dad because she has nothing good about her mother and hiding behind it with great facts about her dad. (WHICH NOBODY CARES ABOUT!!!!)
