The kid would fit right in in the Land of Oz. The Ozites tend to exhibit the same earnest, blithe belief that anyone and anything they meet, no matter how unexpected or odd, is a friend in potentia. Ask them for directions or help and not only will they give it, but nine times out of ten they will invite you to dinner as well.
