Everyone else is worried about the grease, I’m just trying to figure out what this “staff of life” saying is.
Apparently, the saying comes from an awkward rewording of part of a Bible verse and refers to a necessary food, typically bread, being the supporter of life.

At least Grease World is honest about the quality of their food. You know exactly what you’re getting just looking at the name.
