And the rich white guys are screaming “racism!” by appointing her. Well, McCain was racist, too. He picked a lily-white woman to satisfy the “base.” Which seems to be a more appropriate name all the time…

HOWGOZIT: Guess you missed the “palling around with terrorists” quotes (among others). She did her own share of attacking right out of the gate.

McCain’s pick of Palin was one of the most base, cynical political ploys I’ve seen in my lifetime. And most voters saw right through it, thankfully.

churchillwasright: Actually, yes. And I’ll bet you think that’s somehow hypocritical and, no matter how I word the reasons it’s not, you’re going to twist it into me “spinning hypocrisy”.

Prove me wrong. Let me know you’re willing to have an adult discussion about this.

I don’t think Bush’s nominees were held up in an “unprecedented fashion”, and you haven’t shown how they have. But if you’re suggesting that Republicans will hold up Sotomayor’s nomination just to get even, then that is plain pathetic and childish. “Mommy, he did it to me, so I’m going to do it to him!”

churchill, McCain’s pick of Palin was a base, cynical political ploy, in my view, because he selected an unqualified candidate who was unfamiliar with any national issues, unable to speak intelligently on any subject, all in a vain attempt to pick up angry Hillary supporters after she wasn’t picked as Obama’s VP candidate. He flubbed the most important task of a presidential candidate — selecting a qualified person to replace him if necessary.

And yes, Biden, puts his foot in his mouth at times. But he also has experience, knowledge and depth, and his integrity is unchallenged — he’s never been involved in any scandal and is one of the ‘poorest’ members of Congress because he’s never traded influence for personal gain.

And, BTW, Palin isn’t a minority, unless you consider the category of dolts who have trouble with the English language a minority population

now surely you’re jesting Howie, to suggest Biden doesn’t have knowledge and depth along with loose lips
