    Fun fact! There is no Nobel Prize for mathematics. Many people have speculated why this is, but I think it’s because Alfred Nobel just plain hated mathematicians.

    @HOWGOZIT: There are many awards for mathematical works, there’s progress made in the field every year.

    There are theories as to why Nobel didn’t include math as a field, but the most plausible ones include that he didn’t think math was useful / didn’t like mathematicians.
