And you wonder why it;s hard to find an honest politician!

Money not only talks it tells you what to do and how to vote on the issues.

A billionaire Republican? Or are you using “liberal” as an adjective instead of a political label?

Sometimes I wonder if every time ANandy posts, there isn’t somebody standing behind him, pressing a button on his neck.

You know what I love about guys like scotty?

One minute they’re crowing about how popular FOX, Rush and Hannity are….and the next they’re wailing like banshees over the fact that that the so-called ‘Liberal media’ controls everything.

methinks the new motto for the uber-cons oughta be, “Who needs only ONE reality?”

Long ago, when that guy who was just on Dancing With The Stars, got them organized, he taught the Republicans one important lession: If you keep saying something is true eventually it will become true – or at least people will start thinking it is true which (from a political standpoint) is just as good.

The Republicans don’t like what the media reports if it is different from what the Republicans say it is – so it is the media’s fault since they are “Liberial” and Liberials never tell you the truth.

Part of what’s happened to the “media” over the last ten years is that one day when a group of rich Republicans were standing around complaining about the Media one of them said; “Instread of complaining about the Media why don’t we just buy them? Which they did.

Ken - that principle is known as the Big Lie, a term published for the first time in 1925: “[I]n the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.” —Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X Karl Rove is clearly an admirer.

Motivemagus – Yeah I knew the real name was Big Lie (which is a great name by the way), but I had to use that guy (yes I know his name, but “the guy from dancing with the stars is so much more fun to say) from Dancing With The Stars because I love just how messed up our culture has become – I mean where does “reality” end and whatever this mess TV is giving us begins?

My God what would – what will they do to Jesus when he comes back – I mean he is (as far as we know) still single, would they put him on The Bachelorette?

Simon, I may be a progressive/liberal, but I think I’ll adopt “Who needs only one reality?” as my new mantra.

Then there’s the Mythbusters’ line “I reject your reality and substitute my own.” I seem to recall it was a comment on those not believing in science.

I love that line, it was uttered – God I can’t remember his name, I guess I’ll just have to say “The One Who Doesn”t Wear A Baray – he said it after their series of test proved that his theory was wrong.

    Sounded so Republican to me.

churchill - it’s a conundrum. On the one hand, he’s not costing the taxpayers; on the other, this means only the rich or the highly effective fundraisers (who are often getting corporate sponsors) become truly eligible for office. I think on the whole it’s a problem. Why should Americans only be represented in the “big roles” by the rich?
