Yeah, because obviously the retired Director of Research, Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute; a Professor Emeritus and head of The Tropical Meteorology Project, Department of Atmospheric Science, Colorado State University; a retired Professor of Climatology at Columbia University and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory; a paleoclimatologist and Professor of Geology at Carleton University; a Professor emeritus of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia; a professor of atmospheric science and director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville; and thousands of other similarly qualified researchers and educators are just people who “don’t know anything”.

You don’t need to have an advanced degree and published papers to understand the facts, just a modicum of science literacy and critical thinking skills. You may be surprised to find yourself coming to a different conclusion than you find in the “poplular” media.

To quote the great Ray Stevens: “I just play the piano, and sing my little I songs”. Truth in reporting is an oxymoron.

Wow. You can list every venal so-called scientist in the world that’s sold out for climate change denial in a single comment on a lame comic strip. That’s mighty compelling.

Al Gore is suppose to a be a phenominal debator, yet he refuses to debate anyone about his “enviromental concerns”. In the city of Beijing you can not see down the block due to the smog problem, yet you do not see any Greenpeace protests about their enviromental hazzards. When the Senate refused to ratify the “Kyoto Accord” the main stream media screamed that the Republicans don’t care about the enviroment. Yet, they failed to mention that the treaty exempted the number two (China) and number three (India) from the terms of the treaty.

So Treblemaker… you believe that we can take quadrillions of tons of coal, quadrillions of barrels of oil, quadrillions of cu ft of natural gas – all of which is carbon that has been out of the system for 100 million years – and introduce back into the system over 50-100 years with NO CONSEQUENCES?

Seems a bit naive to me.

Just save the planet, okay? Otherwise, I won’t have anything to explore underwater in!

It’s true, you can find scientists who believe climate change is a myth, but they are a very small minority. A large majority believe that humans are having a significant effect on the environment.

I can see it, and I’m no scientist. I still live near where I grew up outside of Atlanta. When I was a child, we got at least one good snow a year, deep enough for sledding. There hasn’t been a real snow storm here in over 15 years, just light sprinkling.
