And although there have been ups and downs, it’s generally gotten worse over the last 25 years. It’s at what I hope is a low point now, though a bit better now thn 2 years ago. Even Heinlein, who predicted a possible American future as a Theocracy (Revolt in 2100 among others) didn’t come up with something as bad as trump.
