Perfect Dark for the N64 was/is a female.

One of the 4 main characters in Left for Dead is female.

Not sure but What about Resident evil?

There is a female character in Resident Evil. Also in Diablo and Diablo 2. Diablo 2 has 3 female characters and 4 male characters (not bad for such a gory game).

Supposedly The main character in the Metroid series is a woman. You just can’t tell because she is always wearing that heavy armor to fight aliens in space.

Other games with female protagonists - Mirror’s Edge, The Longest Journey (and its sequel, Dreamfall), Heavenly Sword, Bullet Witch and Beyond Good & Evil.

I wonder if I should mentions this… I will anyway. In the ’80s there was the role-playing word adventure game “Leather Goddesses of Phobos.”

I distinctly recall one takes on the role of a woman. Don’t ask me about it though. I can’t recall enough about the game. Sci Fi-Fantasy though.

about 70% of the population in World of Warcraft is female, and 90% of them are boys in drag.

Foxtrot used to be 7 days a week, like most comics. Some time ago, Bill Amend decided to go to Sunday only. Classic Foxtrot gives us old dailies the other 6 days.

@Shades: Perfect Dark! Great. I still have that N64 game, left over from when my son was young (along with Ocarina of Time, Nightmare Creatures, and a bagful of others). I may have to play that tonight - it hasn’t been out in years. Maybe see how Zelda’s doing,also……

Are there any boys out there who feel like Jason: regretful of playing a video game where the playable character is female?

I, a boy, have played a few video games where the playable character can selected to be female: 1) Super Mario Brothers 2, 2) Lego Racers, 3) Pokémon Crystal, 4) Pokémon Ruby, 5) Pokémon Sapphire, and 5) Pokémon Emerald. And do I feel regretful? Of course not!

My mother’s grandnephews sometimes do Princess Zelda or Princess Peach on Super Smash Brothers Melee and I’m sure they don’t feel regretful.

Metroid, Tomb Raider, any ‘Star Fox’ game after ‘Adventures’, Super Mario Bros. if he can reaches the end, many Legend of Zelda games (Zelda plays an important role in defeating gannon with light arrows).
