I haven’t a clue as to what you just said. Makes no sense whatsoever. I do belong to PETA .. that is “People Eating Tasty Animals.” I am fully against what Michael Vick has done, though. I do own dogs, and consider them as members of my family. His crimes have been paid for by time and treasure, and hopefully will never be repeated. Lets move on.

This is a blatant attempt on the part of the NFL to gain more notoriety. Lets face it, less the 30% of the people even give a d@mn about football and those that do will not stop giving a d@mn because of Micheal Vick. Here we have a ruckus being made because a much greater percentage give a d@mn about animals and they will give attention to the NFL now. Brilliant marketing.

It’s all in the hands of football fans now. Vick is toast. Just because he served his time doesn’t mean I don’t see a dog abuser walking on the football field. The respect is gone—same as it if he was a child abuser. Get off the football field and go play with O.J. Bye bye.

Football – who cares, I haven’t watched a game in years – same with baseball. Go on a hike, take a swim, ride your bike, play some soccer. Don’t watch a sport – do a sport. No wonder we’ve become a country full lardarses.

I can’t stand football, canadian or american.

I think the guy paid his debt to society, but I still consider him a big, dumb ape.

ynnek; That’s one of the reasons I don’t like football. Too much ruthless, bute agressiveness, not enough of everything else.

OK, there are two points that bear making.

First of all, the complaints about ‘aggressive’. Perhaps it has escaped you, but sports in general are a metaphor for life. When the cave man encountered the saber tooth tiger, the one who decided to fight casually lost the encounter. Even today, aggressiveness has value. If you go to see a doctor, would you welcome the words “Well, I’ll try to cure you, but if it isn’t easy, you’ll just have to live with it.” Or would you buy from a company that reviews show produces a ‘pretty good product’ that is ‘often reliable’? When you mother learned she was pregnant, did she say “Well, I hope it isn’t a real smart or cute baby. I don’t want any child of mine to be successful.” Well, given the ideas expressed, that may have happened and she got her wish.

The other issue is some people seem to have the attitude that there are certain unforgivable crimes. I can appreciate that attitude. Certainly Charles Manson and his followers would fit that category, as well as Timothy McVeigh. The Reverend Jim Jones was another. I would even admit that someone who beats and kills a child has ventured into the unforgivable

But dog fighting? Come on, what else is unforgivable? How about the dog breeder who realizes that all the puppies from a particular bleeep are blind? Should he be required to keep her, or should he be allowed to destroy her? How about the horse with a broken leg? Would you also blame the vet who euthanizes her?
