Paige (daughter): Mm-mmm! Nothing like an ice-cold root beer! Peter (oldest son): Yup. A root beer sure hits the spot after school! You know, I may even have two root beers, I'm so thirsty! Jason (youngest son): Say, are you two talking about root beer?! Peter (oldest son): Why, yes, we are talking about root beer! Jason (youngest son): What a coincidence! I was just thinking to myself how good this root beer tastes! Peter (oldest son): Mind if I try it? Wow! That is good root beer! Roger (father): Remind me to never again tell the kids what I'm giving up for Lent. Andy (mother): I think it's cute.

My dad and I used to joke around like this all the time, thanks to this comic. After school he would sometimes pick me up and get a pack of real beer from the store (don’t worry, it was for him, not me), but he would refer to it as “(whispered) root (shouted) BEER!”.
