LOL! this is great reminds me of when ladywolf17 was little,she would run around the house acting like she was busy and when I finally caught up to her she was sound asleep on the floor in the hallway.
according to my authoritive calvin and hobbes book this isn’t the strip that should be run today, it should be the one where hobbes won’t let calvin come up to the treehouse until he says all the tiger verses.
This doesn’t change when they get older - they just have more ‘reasons’ to move in slow motion for me - but when a friend calls and wants to do something they can definitely hit warp drive!

A loud “NOW!” doesn’t just work on kids either. It also works on my DOG who likes to lolly-gag out in the yard after her business is done and I’m ready for us to go in the house. She gets really motivated too when she hears that word!!!
