Actually, the dems were in control for the last two years and that is when the economy problems started. When you include the “big spender/pork” faction of the GOP, the dems have been in control for 8 years. And Bush didn’t seem to care, since he signed every bill they sent him. After the last two elections, the dems have more fiscal conservatives in the house than the GOP. I hope the GOP learned that they can’t spend their way into being popular with the people.

Good replies? DH, I bet you are pretty happy now, since you knew about the economy problems over two years ago and got all your money out of the stock market. Why didn’t you warn the rest of us? And why didn’t you tell congress and Bush? They would have had time to do something. I’m not making excuses, I placing blame on congress and Bush. If he is so stupid, how could he mess this up all by himself. I might change my name to “just the facts man”.

Hey gb , know how they catch monkies in the far east? They fill a coconut shell with sweet cooked rice with a a hole just big enough for the monkey to slip an open hand through. The coconut then is tied to a stake. The monkey reaches in for the rice but can’t get his fist out. The moneky is trapped because he’s so greedy he wont’t open his fist and let the rice go. Tell ya something?

gbrucewilson askes me: “DH, I bet you are pretty happy now, since you knew about the economy problems over two years ago and got all your money out of the stock market. Why didn’t you warn the rest of us?”

Why the f**k would I be happy the economy is tanking??? That makes no sense at all! I did lose money in the stock market as others did, but also my savings are more diverse having bonds and other interests ( my “Spider-Man” No#1 will never lose value like a share of Wal-Mart can ). That so many live on credit was the warning I saw ages ago… and recall Bush has two wars going at the moment BOTH RUNNING ON CREDIT!

Oh Dale… how oft I have assailed the idiot’s line of “you must be happy since things are going so badly.” It’s right wing douchebaggery 101.

They don’t seem to get the fact that we despise Bush BECAUSE things are going/went so badly. If he had been a better president we wouldn’t have been so irate in the first place.

I blame it on their mental midgetry.
