Google’s big strength is keeping it simple. The engine is quick to load, and Microsoft already has a near monopoly on just about anything about computers. People don’T like empires.

satipera4, Netscape also lives on in an apparently little-known program I use and prefer, Seamonkey. It’s from the Mozilla people and uses the older Netscape format idea that combines browser and e-mail in one program, unlike the Firefox-Thunderbird programs. If you’re familiar with using Netscape, Seamonkey is a breeze. There are also frequent updates from Mozilla. I prefer it to either Firefox or Explorer, but that’s just a personal opinion.

StatCounter has some interesting statistics on search-engine use world wide (http://preview.tinyurl.com/mef9l4 ). I suggest that Google has more to fear from some new start-up (not Wolfram Alpha) than from Microhoo….
