While I get the point of this comic I think its dating itself. Last couple times I’ve been to Europe they stamped it once in- once out (visited 11 countries). Stamping a passport it going to be like saying you have a rotary phone.
The real question is what qualifies anyone to be president. It’s not a job you can practice for by being VP (claims of people like George H W Bush notwithstanding). The most experienced people are required to leave office. Being a Governor gives you a sense of being in an executive position – unless it’s a tiny state with a huge outside income and no tough tax decisions (like Alaska) or a figurehead Governor position with little power (like Texas). Being a Senator puts you at a national level of politics and learning how to negotiate with people you disagree with (politics being the art of the possible, after all), if you have been there long enough. Both have advantages.
But having a trained intelligence and understanding of the world at large and how the law works has traditionally been a rather large advantage. Being smart in the first place is even better. Obama is smart as can be, and has proved his ability to learn and grow (something Bush has consistently failed to do).
And Kylop - you’re right, within Europe, but this is clearly symbolic in any case.
Obama does not have a “doctorate” as such; he has a JD, which is the standard two-year law degree – though he was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, which means he was basically #1 in the class. (That ain’t a “diversity” appointment, folks.) He did teach at the U of Chicago for 12 years.

The question is her ability to deal with our allies and the rest of the world. The current EU attitude is she should be sent back to Alaska.

Obama: First in class at Harvard law…. vs. Palin: 6 colleges to graduate with a journalism degree…. The resume doesn’t start off good for Palin.

How does being 5th from the bottom make you qualified? McCain was by the way.
Motivemagus over 15 years ago
McCain was actually 894 of 899 in his class.

satan, 1st at Harvard vs 894/899 at a military school, hmm, which might be better?
Its a big job and a big world, smart and adaptable’s better than too dumb or stubborn to learn email.
