Since we are all the government, we’re just paying to keep our enterprise running. Personally, I like keeping air clean, roads, safe, medicines regulated and public schools (as long as teachers are allowed to teach without outside pressure). I’d like it even more if we used tax money to join the rest of the wealthy nations in better medical care practices. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, no society can exist without governance, and no government can exist without taxes. It’s the price we pay to keep keeping on.
It would be my parent’s 57th anniversary today if my dad hadn’t passed away in 2020. As kids we asked why they picked 15 April to get married. My mom said she didn’t realize what day it was, they just picked a Saturday. My dad liked to say “We figured the day was shot anyway, might as well get married!”
