I don’t know what would be harder to do. A railway on the moon or the other one Biden spoke of across the Pacific.

All this from an administration that cannot build a high speed rail service from LA to San Fran. But boy they do love spending billions trying to do that.

Drawing looks to be an old ‘red bird’ type car of the NYC subway that ran on the 2, 5, and 7 lines primarily until the early 2000’s.

Blame leftist policies for the state of the subways.

Racism seems to be at the heart of the instructions Putain and Bannon handed down today. Asi9 and the frog are full of it.

Biden used to take the train across the Baltimore bridge that collapsed. Except it had no trains ever. This is your lying drooling President.

^^@Stevekookey: The Baltimore bridge was a freeway bridge. Biden only took a train across it the times you didn’t bogart that whatever it is you insist on smoking.

I grew up in Queens NY. From 1970 until 1981 I rode the NYC subway nearly every working day. The worst subway crime I witnessed was people jumping the turnstiles. Maybe I was lucky, I know there crime in NYC and the 70’s was one of the worst periods, but I never thought of the subway as a dangerous place.

In the NY Times they published an article about the current “crime spree” on the subways. They published a statistic, there was one violent crime for every one million subway rides. You probably have a similar chance of being hit by a car crossing the street. The subway “crime spree” is more about perception than reality.

I’m still annoyed with ex-Gov. Cuomo for forcing Andy Byford out from the MTA, because Byford’s competence and genial personality made him popular and thus apparently threatening to Cuomo. People love to argue about left vs right, but basic competence and good faith governance is sadly underrated.

If anyone has any spare money, please consider donating to UNRWA. Eid al Fitr is just around the corner (Wednesday the 10th), and the kids especially could use some means to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

In other sadness: their Philanthropy head, Hani Almadhoun, tragically lost his brother, sister-in-law, and their children in Gaza today. These senseless losses deepen the grief and losses that Hani and our colleagues have already shouldered.

Hani’s family is among tens of thousands of Palestinians who have been tragically killed in Israeli military airstrikes across Gaza since October 7, a devastating toll that includes at least 108 UNRWA colleagues.
