Don’t look like ol’ Cheezy there; he has a stand in. Carrying fleas is definitely stunt work.

I used to pick them off our dog with tweezers and drop them in a glass of water with a few drops of soap added. They struggled a bit when you first drop them in……

I used to have a lot of trouble with fleas, but I think we finally got rid of them. I only use flea powder on the carpet, though, not on the cats. Then after the flea powder has sat on the carpet a while, I vacuum it up. I actually haven’t had to do that in a long time, though.

I had a request for updates on Panther an Annie’s other kids and Raven. Well, not much has changed. Panther loves those lickable treats and she’ll lick them off my fingers, but I still can’t pet her. I’ve held out my fingers to her with no treats and she will reach out and sniff my fingers, now and then, accidentally touching my fingers with her nose, but that’s as good as it gets. Well, she does come close when I use the laser pointer or when I use the “fishing pole” type toys. And Annie, I can pet her and pet her and pet her, but only when I’m dishing up their bedtime snack of canned cat food. But I never expected either of those 2 to ever become lap cats. Some cats just are not lap cats. I’ve had April from the day she was born (April 2, 2009) and she hates to be touched. I can’t pet her and she won’t sleep on my bed with me or sit in my lap. The rest of the cats in her litter (all of them have crossed the Rainbow Bridge). were very affectionate and liked to sit in my lap. I can accept Panther and Annie being the way they are. Although, sometimes when I’m feeding the cats their bedtime treat and I’m petting Annie, Panther comes closer to me, like she’s interested. Then she backs off. Darn it!

Raven is doing well. Nearly a full grown cat already. Why do they have to grow up so fast? Panther seems to really like Raven over some of the other cats. Panther gets along with all the other cats, but she seems to like Raven best.

If I have to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, Raven likes to steal my spot on the bed.

Funny! Many years ago, a week before I was to leave Germany for the US with my cat, Jenny, I discovered that she was covered in fleas. Or should I say the vet discovered it. Oops! We’d had her out once, on a leash. Might have been enough. We sorta drowned her in a flea bath, and she was Ok to go when the time came…

Those are some very funny fleas. I don’t use flea powder on my cats. I use flea drops, which work quite well, but I have to be careful petting them. On another note, saw three nuthatches, two wrens, two juncos, and five robins while out walking today.
