FDR tried to pack the Court. He failed. But he also prevailed; by the time he died, FDR had nominated 8 (I think) of the 9 SCOTUS Justices.

This is a typical case of paying too much attention to the headline and not bothering to check out the story. The difference here is found in the written majority opinion versus the dissent.

Primaries are the selection within the party as to who will represent them in the general election it is not an official ballot per say. It is a word game that needs to be played correctly to get the correct outcome. Apply the law where the law was designed to be applied, not where you want it to apply.

NEWS FALSH: The newly constituted Supreme Court has just ruled in the case of Trump v US reguarding presidential immunity. The unanimous verdict was 19-0.

Whenever you feel like the verdict was wrong, think about it as if it were the person you back. It was the logical, constitutional, and correct decision. States should not be able to ban anyone from the election, even if he is accused in a crime. Even if he has been found guilty of fraud and sexual assault. The people of the USA have to be the ones to refuse to vote for a person, and no one should not be allowed that right, even if they, by some twisted logic, choose to vote for the most vile public figure in American history. And, Trump hasn’t actually gained anything. Do you in your wildest dreams think that any of the states that were able to get him off the ballot were going to vote for him anyway?

However, from any perspective, no one can be immune from prosecution for whatever they choose to do. If the Supremes rule that Trump is immune, Biden could simply order a hit on him and eliminate the problem. Works both ways, though, and I have absolutely no doubt that Trump would do it.

For the sake of our children, our parents, our grandparents, the democratic republic, I agree with Elie Mystal – There Is Only One Way for Biden to Fulfill His Promise to “Restore Roe”If the president truly wants to protect reproductive rights, he’s going to have to do what he’s so far refused even to consider: expand the Supreme Court… And conservative justices will control the court, for the rest of my life and yours, as long as the Democrats refuse to commit to a platform of court expansion. There are simply no other options. The electoral binary is not “Biden” or “Trump”; it’s “expand the court” or “let pregnant people die.” – The Nation

On another topic, today in 1953 Joseph Stalin died. A kind estimate is that he killed between 10 and 15 million people, and imprisoned many millions more. One thing we’ve learned throughout history is that the cult of personality is very, very bad. One aspect is that when people are beholden to a criminal leader, then it enables that leader to get away with whatever he wants.

Years later, in 1956, successor Nikita Khrushchev gave a secret speech titled “On the Cult of Personality and its Consequences”. The speech outlined the murderous crimes by Stalin and his Gulag, but it leaked and the brainwashed Stalinists went on freaked-out riots.

The takeaway is that cultists really, really REALLY don’t like to hear the truth. It doesn’t matter if they’re Stalinists, Nazis, or MAGAs.

And today, dictator Putin (admired by the MAGA cultists) is doing everything he can to re-write history, including bulldozing all traces of the Stalinist cemeteries and old Gulag (replaced by NEW cemeteries and Gulags).

But you have to love the methods of the GOP: Scream that you opponent will pack SCOTUS as you actually do pack SCOTUS.

It was the Colorado Republicans that caused this case, of course.
