Years ago a landscape painter told me that if you want to improve your chances of a sale in the States, you need to include some sign of human presence in the painting. Apparently most Americans subconsciously want to see “the hand of man” present in the picture. ("Let’s paint a happy little cabin with smoke coming from the chimney. ")
