Steve Kelley for February 15, 2024

Realistically, the Democrats don’t have a golden ticket for the 2024 campaign. I was worried about Biden’s age four years ago and voted for him mostly because there was no “none of the above”. I have been pleasantly surprised that he has done a good job.

The US economy is growing…. 8.8 Million open Jobs… Unemployment 18 straight months under 4 … a manufacturing super cycle started by Biden’s build Back better pieces… 800,000 new manufacturing jobs… 13.5 million jobs created since Biden took office… small business applications are record levels with more that 10 Million applications to the SBA… and massive record investment in the US manufacturing construction sector… 3 times as great as before… 180 BILLION dollars per year.. " By the numbers: As of April, spending on manufacturing construction — new factories — is tracking at a $189 billion annual rate, triple the average rate in the 2010s ($63 billion). Stock market peaking highest ever and interest rates peaking at 8 and on the way down.

I would prefer that Biden was younger, or that there was another candidate as good who was younger. But when you are drowning and can grab a rock or a life preserver, you don’t wait for a boat.

Lent is more about what one takes on than what one gives up. The object of the both tasks is to become a better person. One seeks to achieve the first through self-reflection and self-improvement. The object of the second (also important, but not primary) is to give others with greater needs the things one gives up (or their fungible value) as in alms giving.

2024 could mark the lowest voter turnout yet so measured. Who do we realistically want to vote for? No voter turnout is a vote in itself.

Having voted in every election for 50 years, the next offers the least desirable options. And that is very sad to recognize.

How about some really neat Biden Trivia. You’ll love this. Biden’s birth date is closer to Abraham Lincoln’s 2nd inauguration than to the date Biden took office. So yes, democrats, he IS too old for a 2nd time around.

I gave up on Biden and his elitist Democrat know-it-alls long ago. I was seriously thinking of giving up political commentary for Lent but America can’t afford to ignore the subterfuge of the self-centered Gen-Z radical leftist cockroaches to prevail as we patriots undergo a humble introspection these next 40 days and 40 nights. Our country will be saved from this generation of Tik Tok idiots by those who still believe and will fight for truth, justice, and the American Way.

I’m giving up on the Democrats., Hardly a Lenten commitment as I gave up them long ago. How about giving up on NBC, CBS, ABC, and government controlled PBS? NO, gave that up long ago too. Newspapers? The New York Times crosswords? I loved competing it 100% buy that was last year. I know, I’ll give up on both Biden and Trump and pray our nation comes out of this malaise and supports a candidate who will unite us.
