I’d rather have bacon and French toast.

Who puts themselves through the torture of eating nothing but cabbage soup?

It’s only the first day, and all she’s lost is her mind.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!

I went through survival training in the Rockies while in the USAF. It was a week of hiking at 10,000 feet with only 1500 calories (which is what would be in the ejection seat kit if you had to bail out). I lost 20 pounds. I only weighed 120 to start with. This is a BAD way to diet. I had horrible dreams of my body eating itself.

Any radical reduction in calories and/or use of foods/drugs to speed the process of elimination can seriously damage your body.

I have been on a diet for a few months now. It has taught me some respect for the diet-whiners. On survival training, I was only hungry for a week. Now I am hungry ALL THE TIME!

Slow and steady wins the diet race, not mad-fad-rad diets. It is hard.

Let’s see . . . It is 8:45am and Cathy is 2 hours into the diet and has a bowl of cabbage soup in front of her. Does the soup diet mean that you constantly eat soup? If so that would certainly explain her symptoms.

It is Friday again! We are still experiencing beautiful spring weather – about a month and a half early. The ice huts are already off the ice and they are normally removed at the end of March. There is a lot of grass showing in our yard that does not normally appear until mid April or even later. We are all enjoying the fine days (except those who’s income depends on winter sports (our ski hill was open for about 3 weeks this winter and some of the snowmobile trails were never opened for lack of snow)) but concerned for what Mother Nature is going to throw at us later this month. The 10cm of snow predicted for Sunday may just be a warmup. Ah well, we should enjoy the sunshine and above freezing temperatures while we can.

Hope you are having a fantastic Friday today.

Looks like our heroine is still the queen of subtlety—especially in panel 3 …

HI, MOM. Happy Friday, “Cathy” Clan.
