One of my all time favorite PEANUTS strips appeared on January 22, 1967. I still think it is one of the funniest comics ever drawn, and it’s the payoff to this early gag. I love to see how Schulz developed and improved his themes, like a great composer. He is the Rossini of the comic strip. “TOUCHED THE DOG” can be seen on this site.

Everytime my dog comes in I say "let me see them paws " and I check them ..if they’re dirty I wipe them down .

It’s the same with kids. They’ll wash their hands, but it’s not long before the finger’s back in the nose or they’re doing handstands on the floor.
