Then, back at the roadside stand, she will work the cash register, while they load the pumpkins into the buyers’ cars

No, it’s not fair. Then again, It’s not fair that some people are able-bodied enough to lift pumpkins.

I’m not sure if this is sexism or just plain stupidity.

A group of vandals broke into a California pumpkin patch

this week and wreaked havoc, pushing over portable

toilets and taking a tractor for a destructive joyride.

    (NYpost)

Linus van Pelt wasn’t there (Good grief).

That’s not how it works. The person who owns the tractor, drives the tractor.

Had a very productive pumpkin patch this year, despite the drought. Didn’t have or need a tractor, the wheelbarrow was enough.

When I was 7 I went to a watermelon farm with a truck driver neighbor. The Farmer told me everyone works on his farm, I was put on the tractor. I couldn’t make the turns but did okay keeping it straight. My reward was a huge supper of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and watermelon hearts. A long memorable day for a youngster.

I’m small and old, but I would still prefer carrying pumpkins to running the cash register.

I think that what we have here is a message from the bucolic precincts of Vermont.
