Africa is a mess. It’s not the only mess. Simplistic thinking is always suspect. Though sometimes things really are as simple as you think, mostly they’re not.
I guess Fernando is a pro-Gaddafi guy. The death toll in Libya is far less than it is in Syria, even if it’s still a hot mess. Apparently, no-fly zones can work.
Anyway, Ted correctly points out that the minimum wage is overdue for an increase.
Commenters such as FJ-B live in a world where all that happens is a result of America’s machinations. Specifically, leaders who are Democrats are the puppet masters. There is no agency other than that. There are no other forces other than that. Never a solution, only than Trumpeting support for the guy whose Russian buddy is likely behind these anti-democratic movements.
The number of coups in Africa had been falling. But economic and social dislocations caused by climate change, increasing numbers of young people without good prospects of jobs, and African leaders, even Democratically ones. feeling they are in for life have contributed to the surge in coups.
With Putin’s chef now sadly killed in an ‘accident’, I wonder who is raking in the wealth being stolen in Africa by Russia for Putin. ‘Nothing grows where Putin goes.’
Who here thinks the average Trump Voter sits around their doublewide talking about coups in Africa? We have other “things” to prepare for right now. In honor of ncorgbl’s twist on a old song…. " the smell of gun grease and their bayonets they shine"
Nailed it. We think we’re immune, but we’re not. We’ve got a LOT of really dumb people who are more than willing to throw away their rights and freedoms for a strongman—as long as he’s THEIR strongman.

Dictatorship is a bad thing?
But only in Africa, right?

Trumps buddy Putin will be withholding food from Africa so they can starve.

This drawing is too complicated… something negative about Trump voters, I guess, but darned if I get it.

In case anyone missed it, the reference to the $7 minimum wage is the real topic here.
