I was bemused by this apparent disconnect too. But remember, these people are radical conservatives which includes matters of dress and protocol as well as idiotic law making and name calling of people who are outside their pale.
Or, to put it in simpler perspective: They’re whackos so of COURSE their behavior doesn’t make consistent sense.
This little caucus with such a narrow view that I think it will squiz itself out of existence. Seriously, imagine being so right that MTG doesn’t fit in.
Being objective, the Democratic Party is now the de facto [defeatist?] cautious conservative party and the GOP is a high-risk self-destructive insular contrarian party willing to lie/scheme/cheat/steal to gain/maintain control.
Maybe so, but I think this is an example of when the “when they go low, we go high” principle should be followed. Showing a little class when so little is apparent in the GOP should at least provide an contrast. I think most people would prefer that their elected officials act a little better than the current honkytonk on a full moon Saturday night situation that the GOP currently are exhibiting.
Yeah, yeah, these are "whackos"—real crazies—They actually think a baby IS a boy or girl (not “assigned” by a mean doctor), that a “border” is actually a legal separation between nations, and that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Just a bunch of right-wing nuts!
So, on his 5 July toon, in response to my repeated attempts to get Ted to comment about Russia’s insurrection attempt, Ted had these words, “Timing is a big part of what runs where. Unfortunately there was a six-day lag between Russia’s wild weekend and the next podcast;” Whelp, on his most recent podcast Mr. Rall opened the piece with a rough draft version of Jimmy Carter’s obituary. When I heard this take, I had to stop and look up news on the former president. Did I miss something, was Jimmy imminently going down for the count? Nope, the only recent news out there for our peanut farmer prez was that he and Rosalynn were “celebrating” their 77th anniversary. Apparently, former President Carter will be with us beyond 6 days more. What does this mean? Apparently, Ted’s news rule of 6 only applies to the past, not the future, which then has me wondering where else Theodore applies his rule of six. What about milk, would Ted go past 6 days on the posted milk use by date? When Ted creates one of his Tediverses, where the world operates in some strange Tedway, would Ted restrict himself to 6 days of efforting constructing strawpeople and hyperbolic arguments for his Simsland and then rest on the 7th day, or would he delve deeper? If Ted were a football player, and Ted doesn’t care much for sports, and he scored a touchdown, would he be so secure in his abilities that he would forego the 7th or 8th point attempts? All these queries bear a reply. Mr. Consistent, what say you?:
I believe the reason the caucus booted MTG was because she was a reflection of the caucus. As of now the Freedom Caucus is in disarray because of her. All I can say is, the mirror’s been broken and the damage is done.
Extremist groups tend to splinter easily because every one is a purist in their own way. Just look at the history of Socialism in the US in the 20th century. People were always leaving or being forced out so they made their own ever smaller party. It took an alphabet soup of letters for all their different anagram names.
Apparently, The boys were upset she was getting more and better (read: horrified) press than they were. Plus, she called their girl mascot a mean name. Middle school BS drama. Margie is just plain better at crazy than they are.
Judge Cannon, the judge in the Trump documents case, has decided to hold the trial in a courthouse that will pull jurors from a heavily Republican group of districts. This means that jurors will be pulled from Highlands (66% Trump), Indian River (60% Trump), Martin (62% Trump), Okeechobee (72% Trump), and St. Lucie (50.38% Trump) counties, all which voted for Trump in 2020.

They would be perfectly fine with Perjury Taylor Greene calling AOC or Pelosi the same.

“Freedom” Caucasus is like Moms For “Liberty”, a big joke. They give themselves names that are the direct opposite of their aims.
