I didn’t have a dad after WWII, … but I had several neighbor families whose dads often included me in their family activies. The US was a more compassionate, less divided nation, it seemed to me, when I was young. The dads made us feel safe and secure.
And I hope the tall man stoops more than just at Father’s Day. Although, as I get older, stooping is harder and harder to do. Still, I give the kids my attention. That is best.
