Oopsie, somebody did it again! Time to get The Donald to fire them, or make a reasonable imitation of him. Hey, we all notice when you guys screw up, okay??? :-(

You know, Cathy, a hug works both ways. Instead of standing with open arms (which is a good start, but only half way), you could put your hand on Irving’s shoulder, tell him you’ll miss him too, tell him to hurry home, maybe kiss him on his cheek.

Aww geez, I’ve given away all my secrets. :-D

I figure we’ll get Sunday Cathy back sometime. I signed on to Aaron’s account and read the rest of the comics for today, so I got my fill. Getting my fill of the crew here though ain’t gonna happen.

I do think though that KFG is having way too much fun without us. I’d send in the Marines, but we’d never see them again. ;-) Afternoon lightenup later. No GsMom today. Hendelca is due back soon. Hi Mona if you come by. Hi to the rest of our family. Happy Sunday.

Wow, he just left her there waiting… No wonder she has such issues about him. Billy’s suggestion works well if the relationship is a little further along and secure. But at this point, they are still figuring things out. Cathy did her part, so now Irving needs to do his for it to be complete. Irving isn’t bad at goodbyes; he’s just bad at goodbyes with Cathy.Good morning (barely), Susan, gmforde and Billy! Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, gmforde, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today! Welcome back, hendelca, whenever you get a chance to catch up with comics!Regarding the Cathy Sunday comic, I got a response on Thursday saying “Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ll look into it.” So I figured they wouldn’t have it resolved for today, but fingers crossed for next Sunday!

Ain’t it funny how two people can look at the same comic and see two different things. :-D

Thanks, rgcviper! Maybe if more contact them, it’ll be pushed up the priority list. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, and all that.@ Billy – I think the reason that you/Aaron and I see things differently regarding Irving and Cathy is that you & Aaron have been in a loving, open relationship for your entire adult life (I’m assuming you two are about the same age). You two are in a relationship where it is clear that the feelings are mutual and you both freely show your emotions for each other. Whereas, for most of my 20s I dated, and there were plenty of times where I showed my emotions and they were ignored, rejected, mocked, etc. and I (along with many others in my age group) entered slowly in relationships until I knew that the feelings were mutual. So it usually started out slowly, sending out “feelers” to see if they were reciprocated. Believe me, there were plenty of times where I decided to “go for it” and just jump right in, giving hugs/kisses/love freely, but very often the guy ran the other way, feeling that it was too pushy/going too fast/the feeling wasn’t mutual. I can totally understand why Cathy isn’t jumping in with both feet. Also, she could also be seen as jealous, trying to insert herself in between Vivian & Irving – she just can’t win either way.

I really enjoy the Cathy comic, even in re-runs. I hope the cartoonists decides she’s had enough of retirement and creates some new ones about Cathy and the baby.

I think it was even harder on Billy and me because of who we are, not to each other, but to those around us. (Sometimes around you guys; and I’d bet that some don’t approve even now). Even today there is barely any tolerance. Some of our GU and GWU student friends even took a while to come around. They had to see us as people not very different from them in our basic lives before they knew that disapproval wasn’t going to change who we are. My own parents might have disapproved. We never got the chance to show them. Billy’s folks loved me from day 1, but I knew them for a while before Billy and I talked to them. Actually, as is typical, Mom already knew. She asked me one thing specifically. I promised. For 18 19 years, I’ve kept my promise.

The world is also a cruel place, not just with words. Billy was hit in the head, from behind, by a hater with a lead pipe. It was one afternoon near the start of our relationship. This was in Cambridge, MA. I sat beside him on the sidewalk holding him while he bled from his ear, thankfully unconscious. He needed surgery and was lost to me for over a month. Adversity didn’t bring us together, but it sure almost kept us apart. That’s why we are the center of each other’s worlds.

All that being said, it still takes two, and if Irving can’t give a little, Cathy should ask a little. Poor Irving and Cathy aren’t really even friends at this point. Billy is right about the gestures and the words, even for a new-ish relationship. Picking one thing that he said would start to make a difference. They encourage the trust if done right. Walk before you run, but certainly walk. I don’t know at what point Cathy and Irving finally clicked, but I’ll love seeing it.

It was a long time ago, Susan (and sometimes a lifetime ago). He got tackled by two Harvard students. They witnessed the attack and gave chase. Hate crimes weren’t really called that back then, like ‘96 or ’97. He served 8 years in prison. Billy’s folks intervened when there was talk of early release.

Sigh. So goes the life of my Aaron and his Billy. It also makes me apprecitate Aaron even more because I was blind in one eye for a time. I didn’t care, either, just as it’s not a big deal to my bud. (But he’s not giving up on the hope that’ll he’ll get his sight back.) And despite everything Little Muttley Beagle loves us both. How bad can life be under that little miracle. :-)

I’m with Aaron in waiting for Cathy and Irving to click. I have little memory of their lives together once they were married. I do remember (ssshhhh, don’t spoil it) one set of parents doing something fairly outrageous toward the end of the new releases. I won’t say anything more.
