Noooooooo!!! Not that I want to go back to the “olden” days, but Thanksgiving should be sacred. It’s one of the best holidays because it doesn’t involve gifts and commercialism, only family, friends and food. p.s. I don’t think it’s the 10,000 calories that caused the “premature bargain consumerism” (aka PBC), but more likely the extra glasses of wine that being with any of them would cause me to drink.I guess everyone is sleeping in, but I was rudely awoken at 5:30am by a text from a “friend” of my husband wishing him a Happy Thanksgiving. I tried going back to sleep, but my attempts didn’t go well. Time to get up and start breakfast anyway. I’m cooking breakfast and dinner today. Anything in between is up to them.

Happy Thanksgiving to Aaron, Susan, Billy, GsMom and all the other U.S. based Cathy nuts that roll around here today! I’m thankful for everyone regardless if you celebrate today or not!Hello to Kfgrrl! I hope you are able to relax and get some time off, and I am thankful for hard-working people like you who give their time and efforts for others. Have a great day!

    Happy Thanksgiving

I’m glad not to work in retail. Open at midnight? Open at 5:00 a.m.? Pure nuts. Cathy’s dad would be better off if they passed the bottle. :-)

Billy and I will be working in the soup kitchen this morning to afternoon. The house smells so good right now and we got a bright sunny day after a few rainy days in DC.

Ah, but don’t you have to do Hanukkah shopping? That’s eight days’ worth of presents to buy! :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! Our turkey day was, what, six weeks ago now? Finally got rid of all the leftovers! LOL I’m not sure how you guys can stomach turkey twice so close together. BTW, Black Friday has now seeped across the border…so thanks for that!

@O-Kay – My family doesn’t have turkey for Christmas. We usually have either ham or a roast. Even if we did Thanksgiving when Canadians do (October, I believe), I still wouldn’t want a turkey more than once a year. Granted, I grew up eating duck for Thanksgiving, but that’s another story…

K.F.G., I have loved Cathy since the 80s! And in fact I have ALL the collections dating back to the first strips. I hate how much of myself I see in her. L Well, I’m a LITTLE older and wiser now. So glad to “meet” another Canuck!
