“AI’ll be bahck.”

AI may be able to eliminate the human race, but insects will survive for ever. Maybe the dinosaurs will come back.

We need to plan very carefully when creating AI.

Something only an AI can create.

Technology has advanced civilization forever. This is no different.

The question is, “Are we smarter than the average bear?” I don’t think so… (My apologies to Hannah/Barberra)

I’m hearing all the doom saying but haven’t really heard what exactly the extinction event that AI will cause might be. Do they really think AI will go all Skynet? Will there be killer robots roaming the streets? Can AI really pose a greater threat to our existence then we do to ourselves? While there is definitely the potential for upheaval I don’t see how there’s a threat to the species.

As people come to recognize that AI is essentially “plagiarism software” and does not create anything of value, perhaps it will become a passing fad. Already, I think many folks see something “created” (copied and pasted) by AI as mildly amusing but not worth keeping.See also: NFT.
