I fail to see what the point of complaining about the lack of “good” candidates is. The GOP had an embarrassment of riches when it came to options in 2016: From the most Republican of Republicans in Jeb Bush to minority options like Marco Rubio, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorino.
They CHOSE the loud guy. Overwhelmingly.
Frankly, every choice I would’ve made on the Dem side in 2020 would be considered too old and party mainstream for the complainers these days (Liz Warren, Harris, Biden, in that order). I have yet to hear a name from the “We need fresh blood” camp that would stand a chance in 2024 or beyond. (AOC – any of The Squad really – would get slaughtered in the general election right now.)
What’s considered the Right Choice in internet circles will generate a giant “Who?” in the real world. Remember that.
Use the guy who did it once to deliver another defeat to the orange menace, THEN both parties can move on to the next generation… hopefully someone sane on the R side.
So Breen thinks everything got burned down. Maybe he is just trying to forget how many horrible things the Orange version of Pennywise the Clown did before we had a POTUS who was not an complete megalomaniac
Uh, what’s the point of getting a more qualified candidate? He/she would never get elected. You dumb Americans rejected a highly intelligent, educated, experienced, and forward thinker like Gore to elect a doofus like Bush, same with rejecting Hillary to elect Trump. If the Democrats want to get elected, they have to run an idiot themselves.
I will vote for the candidate with the most positive character traits starting with Fidelity, Honesty, Empathy, Truthfulness, Loyalty, Humility . . . oh forget it. I’ll be voting for Biden again.
Good cartoon and good point about 2016 by mysterysciencefreezer. I remember the first GOP debate with Rubio stated how impressed he was with the depth of the talent on the debate stage…and Trump was elected. The best of the best. I still maintain that Trump is the symptom, not the disease.

The NY Times today announced a poll that said 50% of the GOP wants to leave Trump’s behind.
No.
That can’t be right.
But it does explain why Miss Lindsay spends so much time at Mar A Lardo!
