I’m sure that “It was perfect” is a deliberate misquote. And yeah, I do blame the orange furor because he set an unrealistic deadline, screwed up the details, didn’t even pass them along during the transition and treated the Biden team with contempt and misinformation.
It wasn’t perfect. But it was necessary and we’re much better off for having gotten out. And yes, we do blame traitor45 for his part in making it so much worse.
That disaster alone should be enough to impeach the senile sock puppet but as long as the RINO traitors are infesting the Republican party nothing is going to happen.
He never said it was perfect. And you would have to be an idiot to ignore the lead-up that led to the Afghan withdrawal. Under Trump’s administration, troop levels were drawn down to 2500 before Biden ever became POTUS. Essential equipment was removed. Equipment that couldn’t be removed was destroyed. The balance of the equipment that was there was used directly by afghan forces in their operation. The US had capability to protect only specific areas when Biden took over. This ignorant cartoon ignores that Taliban prisoners were released by the thousands and were already taking over remote areas because there were no US troops to support the Afghans.
Laugh, Mike, anyone with half a brain ALREADY knew Trump and his administration were largely responsible for the flawed foundation of the withdrawal. Biden had to follow the rules that Trump allowed the Taliban to dictate.
Biden should get credit for it going as well as it did.
I don’t know why the Biden administration brought one of their older failures back to center stage, likely to divert attention from some current failures. Like clockwork, leftists swallow the bait and regurgitate the usual….but, but, but……it’s Trump’s fault!!! It’s surprising they aren’t blaming Trump for Operation Eagle Claw, at least not yet.
Biden was 8 months into his term, he made the withdrawal decision, period. I remember one president who coined the term: “ The buck stops here,” meaning the President makes decisions and has to accept responsibility for those decisions, good or bad.
I can see a response…….but, but, but Trump did ___________!
Trump signed the surrender agreement 2/2020 that called for the US to be totally out be 2/2021. So, the generals were on notice they had 1 year to plan the withdrawal, Biden extended withdrawing the remaining 2,000 troops until August giving the generals an additional 6 months. I don’t think people should expect the President to micro-manage and personally schedule the loading of jeeps onto a C-2 cargo plane. I doubt Biden personally selected the location of check-point were the Marines were killed.
Who did the work, tRump’ children were negotiating with the Taliban to get hotel rights in Kabul and he was on the golf course; he did not care about U.S. lives lost, to him they were and are expendable numbers.
What people here are failing to see is that this thing was destined for failure no matter what. Sure, we could have kept spending money pretending we were setting up a workable democratic government, but it was clear, even after all the billions spent on them, that the Afghan military didn’t care, and were not going to fight. If we had stayed two more years and pulled out, the result would have been the same.
From a U.S. Army Veteran: it is ludicrous to blame a former Commander in Chief for what happens under the watch of the Current Commander in Chief. The POTUS has full and final authority of the Armed Forces of the USA. The President may seek, accept and/or reject the counsel of his military advisors but, in the end, the President bears the full and sole responsibility for the command and safety of our armed forces.
I certainly blame the Biden administration for the particulars of the withdrawal. (Said it then, saying it now) I certainly blame the Trump administration for the deal that set the stage for the withdrawal. I certainly blame the Obama administration for getting sucked into an illusion that they could “fix” a country by dealing with people who were only cooperative as long as the $$$ kept rolling in. I certainly blame the Bush, jr. administration for taking their eyes off of the goal (get bin Laden!!!) and started this particular tragic cycle.
I also take to task the critics of the Biden administration and their failure to recognize that ANY withdrawal would have been replete with danger and tragedy. Or, would they just prefer a permanent occupation of Afghanistan? I suspect that whatever was done/however the Biden administration handled it would have been fodder for the political appetite of his critics.
It was tRump who surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban, leaving the Afghan government out of his “Art of the Deal”. tRump gave the Taliban what they wanted in demanding the release of over 5,000 Taliban and ISIL fighters from Afghan prisons. It was the ISIL fighters who killed our 9 soldiers on our exit.
Trump set it up since he knew he was losing the election so it was just one more IUD he left for the next administration it trip. Same with inflation and higher gas prices.

Where was General Milley in all of this? He should of put a plan together and executed the mechanics of it much better than what happened.

The Disciples all believe that when a Republican president leaves office, NONE of the damage he has done has any lasting effect.
For example, the invasion of Iraq has had NO lasting effects.
Just like Trump’s freeing of Taliban prisoners and his negotiations with them instead of the Afghan government.
.
After all, It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It!
