Mr. Wiggly: 2nd panel, trying to hold the stage rope together. The stage is seen better days, any help from the actors is greatly appreciated.

The general meaning of this “women’s pay gap” centers around a couple concepts, according to multiple studies:

    1) Men, by and large, are the ones that typically take more dangerous, physically strenuous, and/or traveling jobs (lumbering, construction, firefighting, military, train engineers, ranch hands, etc.) which pay more.

    2) Women tend, on average, to take jobs offering more flexibility to care for children (with less pay), take personal leave for maternity and childraising, etc., which disrupts potential “career tracks.”

Extrapolate for those two factors, and the supposed “pay gap” disappears almost completely.

Besides which, if the “70% of what men make” meme were really true, why would any employer hire men when they can just cut their payroll 30% by discriminating against men and hiring all women?
