More than 90% of my phone’s use is to receive verification codes for two-part authentication so I can log into my various accounts on my computer.
I occasionally get a text message about medical appointments.
My wife will sometimes send me a grocery list.
Oh, and every now and then I use it to receive and make phone calls. I’ve done phone interviews and there are three people I call on a routinely: my wife, my sister and my cousin.
I don’t even get that many spam calls. I don’t answer unless I recognize the ring tone that I associated with people I want to talk to.
I’ve only recently gotten in the habit of keeping it with me all the time. I used to plug it in when I got home from work and strap it on when I went to work the next day.
My phone is just that, “a phone” that is never glued to my ear. I do not get ads or spam calls. My life is on my laptop which has 3-4 antivirus programs, thus, no ads and no spam there either.
