The fastest hang-up I think I ever got was when I told the scammer my fiancé was an investigator for the IRS. All I heard was “Fine…‘click’.” Funny thing is that it was actually true. I just didn’t tell him that she only investigated tax fraud.

I’m guessing Mr. Sandy has been getting the IRS scam calls. I appreciate his using the strip to highlight the scams. I loathe the fear mongering scammers.

I get about 10 calls a day now that my Sirius XM trial expired. Different 877 numbers and different states every time. There’s no way to block them all. It’s maddening. Also makes me never want to do business with them.

I enjoy getting those calls. I play their game and keep them on the phone as long as I can just to waste their time and delay calling the next person on their list. I love when they realize what I’m doing and explode on me in anger for wasting their time. IRS does not call anyone and neither does Social Security or any other agency in that matter.

For these scam calls I just press “Q” 4 times. Not 1 Q, not 2 Q, nor 3, but 4Q in hopes that the scammers will get the message.
