When I was 37 years old, I was out of shape and a smoker. I gave up smoking and decided to engage in an exercise program. I was not going to push it and decided that if it took me 37 years to get out of shape, I would spend 37 years getting back into shape and reach my physical peak at age 74.
I’ll be there in a couple of weeks.
I joked that when I got there I would start smoking again, drink profusely, eat whatever I wanted, have unprotected sex and otherwise lay around eating bon-bons and watching TV. I should only live long enough for all of that to catch up to me.

In am 80, that plan has worked quite well for me..
