Now that I think about it, why was there a bucket of water in the witch’s castle in the first place? (I’ve seen the movie, but not have read the book.) Dorothy and the gang didn’t know they were going to accidentally liquidate the witch to death when the witch purposely set the scarecrow afire.
I remember, seeing the movie as a kid, how scary the Wicked Witch was. Years after playing that role, Margaret Hamilton would visit kids in schools, and they would still be scared of her. She even visited Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood show in order to calm some of the kids’ fears towards her role.

Why didn’t Poncho throw the water on Carmen?

Note that Poncho did get the broom, without having to throw water on Carmen the witch.

Poncho and the flying cat union kind of threw water on her plans …
… so she had a meltdown.

This is absolutely hilarious! But I do feel sorry for Carmen.
