I thought that was the result of over aggressive handball games. Of course, if he’s playing with one-time pro guys, maybe he should have an ambulance on call.

I was never good at basketball, but I loved playing and played pickup games until my mid-50s. At that point, my injury rate (jammed/broken fingers, mostly — on my third wedding ring since I broke that finger so often, but also my left knee) made me regretfully give it up.

And that’s why I gave up playing basketball in middle age.
