What China should do now is release about 10000 more big white weather balloons, all with big impressive (fake, cheap) sensor array 3-bus-long packages suspended. Have them simply overwhelm the US airspace. Claim, straight faced, that of course they are just weather balloons that went off-course.
It won’t cost them much and it would be a great psy-ops mission.
And if they invaded and “took back” Taiwan at the same time, we would probably not even notice, since we would be so very distracted by all the pretty balloons.

And then thePRC gets all indignant when we shoot it down. US should send a large fleet to a point 7 miles from mainland China just to annoy them.
